19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized the Russian player won his maiden trophy for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has had a difficult period, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in specific - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-time mentor Cervara.
Now working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - peaking in a closely contested competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
It is his first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court since March of 2023.
Victory also signifies the Russian has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters together, so to get a trophy is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive play style and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted some to question if his skill to compete at the top level was over.
However the player has altered his approach in the past month, striving to come to the net and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.
Both players swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his first professional title, gained dominance to push for a decider.
Moutet saved 4 initial break points in a tight third set before the champion broke to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet unable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
